I participated in the group exhibition “Aesthetic Overlaps – The Romanian Blouse”, organized by the “Ștefan Luchian” Art Gallery in Botoșani, an institution that holds a significant place in my artistic journey. This was the first gallery where I exhibited my work, during my years of study at the “Ștefan Luchian” Art High School in Botoșani. Returning to this space as part of a professional exhibition marked a meaningful moment of continuity and reflection.
The exhibition was organized in connection with the traditional celebration of Sânziene and Romanian Blouse Day (Ia Day), both celebrated on June 24, a date officially recognized by law since 2022 as a celebration of the Romanian blouse as a symbol of Romanian cultural heritage.
Through contemporary artistic interpretations, the exhibition explored the Romanian blouse as a point of aesthetic and cultural overlap between tradition and present-day visual practices.
The opening was complemented by a live performance by artist Doina Lavric Pârghel, who performed traditional Romanian songs using voice and cobza, adding a performative and sensory layer to the visual experience.
Exhibiting alongside other artists in the city where my artistic education began represented both a personal return and a reaffirmation of my ongoing artistic path.
